Suing A Fast Food Restaurant - 1503 Words
Have you ever thought about suing a fast food restaurant because of how unhealthy is making your body? Well in his essay ââ¬Å"Donââ¬â¢t blame the eaterâ⬠David Zinczenko talks about children that are trying to sue McDonalds for making them fat. Growing up with divorced parents and a mother who worked long hours, Zinczenko was left with no other choice but to turn to fast food restaurants in order to sustain himself. He describes how itââ¬â¢s easy for kids to put on weight and turn obese by eating junk food. He argues that fast food restaurants are to be blame for people, especially children and teenagers, for their obesity. Honestly it is the parents fault. Is not like McDonalds put a gun to an individualââ¬â¢s head and forced them to eat their food. In my opinion I would have to disagree with David Zinczenko, it is your own fault and a parents fault and not these fast food places. Children are a parentââ¬â¢s responsibility. As a parent you take ownership on what y our children eat. I know some parents do work long hours and find it very convenient to stop at a fast food drive through to feed that to their kids and themselves, but there is many things parents can do to guarantee that their children eat healthy. Fast food restaurants have all these unhealthy options on their menus, and as a parents youââ¬â¢re supposed to be your kidââ¬â¢s role model. If you are going to eat at fast food restaurants and feeding that to your children, then donââ¬â¢t expect for your child to grow up and not want to eat that asShow MoreRelated##hetorical Analysis Of David Zinczenkos DonT Blame The Eater1598 Words à |à 7 Pagesââ¬Å"Donââ¬â¢t Blame the Eaterâ⬠Analysis Essay Increasing the options of fast food restaurants in America gave society different choices of where they can choose to go eat. King Lear Essays (209 words) - British Films, English-language Films
King Lear Shakespeare's tragedy King Lear is a detailed description of the consequences of one man's decisions. This fictitious man is Lear, King of England, who's decisions greatly alter his life and the lives of those around him. As Lear bears the status of King he is, as one expects, a man of great power but sinfully he surrenders all of this power to his daughters as a reward for their demonstration of love towards him. This untimely abdication of his throne results in a chain reaction of events that send him through a journey of hell. King Lear is a metaphorical description of one man's journey through hell in order to expiate his sin. As the play opens one can almost immediately see that Lear begins to make mistakes that will eventually result in his downfall. The very first words that he speaks in the play are :- "...Give me the map there. Know that we have divided In three our kingdom, and 'tis our fast intent To shake all cares and business from our age, Conferring them on younger strengths while we Unburdened crawl to death..." Ban the bull - Emphasis
Ban the bull Ban the bull They say money talks. But why does financial language so often leave the poor reader in need of subtitles? Since the credit crunch, the thorny issue of finance has dominated the media. If only we all had a euro for every story wed read on the subject, wed all have far fewer financial concerns. And the less pain the financial experts add to the topic, the better. So why do they sometimes trouble the average reader with inaccessible language that adds up to whole lot of nothing? Take this quote from Andrew Balls, head of European portfolio management at investment multinational Pimco, and brother of Shadow Chancellor, Ed. Here, he muses on the prospects for the eurozone: We think it is prudent to remain underweight European sovereign risk and to wait for evidence that countries with stressed debt dynamics can deliver on fiscal consolidation without undermining growth in their economies. This example cloaked as it is in dense financial jargon is a tough nut to crack. Granted, it initially came from a research report, where one might expect the readers to be familiar with this kind of technical language. But the quote has been increasingly exposed to less specialised readers. First, business news website Bloomberg used it, and then in June the Telegraph shoehorned it into its Emergency Budget blog. At this point, perhaps the Telegraph could have broken it down getting the gist across by using reported speech. Something like: Mr Balls took a cautious view, and suggested investors should wait for evidence of long-term economic stability in vulnerable eurozone countries before taking any action there. Or, time allowing, you could even call on someone in the know to put it into laymans terms. Whatever you do, its always important to consider the reader and their needs, interest and level of knowledge even when quoting. This could involve using everyday alternatives for some jargon terms. Or, if technical terms are unavoidable, explain them afterwards as you would to a friend who worked in a completely different field. Its important, too, to think about what readers dont need to know, so they dont get overwhelmed by the sheer quantity of information. If in doubt, cut it out. And while we cant do anything about the financial situation, we can help you get your message across effectively with our article The language of money. Help us ban the bull If you stumble across any bewildering business gobbledegook, then please send the offending text to us and well do our best to translate it.

Comment on John R. Clarke's analysis of THE GOLEM observe and describe Essay
Comment on John R. Clarke's analysis of THE GOLEM observe and describe the film carefully and critically examine Clarke's argument - Essay Example He also points out that through the acting and expressionist nature of the film, the producers were not aiming at realism. This paper will critically examine and comment on John Clarkeââ¬â¢s analysis if The Golem. Clarke observes that two stories are intertwined through each other around halfway through the film. While Loew is at the palace after being summoned by Luhois (the Roman Emperor), Florian (a knight) is secretly courting Miriam (Loewââ¬â¢s daughter) (Clarke 1974, 117). Through this observation, Clarke basically communicates suspense, creating the notion that the two events cannot end well. However, analysing the two stories critically, one realises that Clarke does not dwell on the aspect of comparison, especially between that of the Jews of Prague and Christians, which seemed to be the focus of the producers. It is also significant to note that no stereotypes were imposed on either party by the producers, who opted to concentrate on individual characters and use group characterization to highlight the filmââ¬â¢s themes. They dress all the Jews in black, and they seem to be bending under age, portraying a religion sinking into oblivion. In contrast, the Christians, dressed in bright colours, appear new and shiny. From this perspective, Clarke can be seen to be branding the film as an anti-Semitic one. However, he can be criticised on this view because the film seems to be created on a theme of tolerance, studying the Jew-Christian relationship in Prague. Rather than being perceived as anti-Semitic, the film can be considered as an open-ended staging of the struggles between Judaism and Christianity. However, Clarke seems to be bent on the idea that the producers were attracted by Romanticism. It may be concluded that The Golem actually dwells on realism, using comparisons to bring out the depth of two different cultures. In particular, the Star of

Death in the laboratory Essay Example | Topics and Well Written Essays - 1000 words
Death in the laboratory - Essay Example Due to the nature of the evidence, it is most likely that the Count who was discovered dead in a laboratory on 21 September died as a result of the injury caused to his body through the assault of his disease. Upon entering the scene, the body of the Count was displayed in such a way to suggest that he had fallen at the point of his death. One leg was at an awkward angle and his arm was thrown behind his back. Initial point of view suggested that he his death had been caused in such a way that he was surprised and not prepared for the fall. Since there was no evidence of bodily injury, the initial overview of the laboratory suggested that perhaps he had suffered from some sort of poisoning, either through the still open food that sat near his body or the cigarette that still had some length to it, but was no longer burning as if it had been snubbed out previous to consuming the meal. In addition, a video on safety and health was in the DVD player, along with research on the effects of the drug therapy cisplatin for use in ovarian and blood cancers. Chloroform and liquid nitrogen were also found on the scene. Further investigation into the meaning of the research revealed that it was cente red on the manipulation of DNA towards the goal of creating a successful type of gene therapy. The initial investigation into the Countââ¬â¢s financial life revealed that he had become near to bankruptcy, his bank account drained of what had originally been a significant savings only a short time ago, now overdrawn. Near his body was found a series of pharmaceuticals that have a specific purpose that was identified. Cisplatin, oxaliplatin, fluorouracil, and folinic acid were all found arranged on a surface near the body. Oxaliplatin is used in combination with cisplatin when innate or acquired resistance to the cisplatin therapy exists (International Symposium on Platinum Coordination Compounds in Cancer Chemotherapy, and
